Short films at the Gallery of Alberta Media Arts (GAMA)
EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts is proud to partner with the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society to present a selection of short films and video created by Gabriel Staples, John Osborne and Janna-Marynn Brunnen.
In his video work, Staples mediates between what is lost during the processes of editing, reproduction and manipulation to discover what is actually gained.
Osbourne’s work attempts to rise above its minimal graphics of dots and lines to evoke the emotions of the original music track while Brunnen examines what happens when love doesn’t last forever through traditional and experimental animation methods incorporating still photographs of original paintings.
The Gallery of Alberta Media Arts (GAMA) is an initiative to provide support and ongoing prominent screening space for Alberta media artists and curators.
