Step Lightly is a whimsical documentary featuring Edmonton’s impressive approach to dealing with mountains of garbage. Traditionally, the 3 Rs referred to the core educational subjects of Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, but in today’s Alberta it can just as easily be applied to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. At Edmonton Waste Management Centre, thanks to the 3 Rs, the city is on the verge of keeping 90% of its municipal waste out of a landfill.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at how the provincial capital turns trash into treasure and see how Edmonton is reducing the city’s environmental impact in a really big way.
